The beautiful conservation village of Gifford lies about twenty miles east
of Edinburgh and four miles south of Haddington, East Lothian.
Set at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills the village makes an ideal base for
exploring the history and scenery of the surrounding countryside or
discovering the delights of Scotland's capital city.
There are two local golf courses to enjoy with Gifford Golf Course being
described by Golf World magazine as "The best nine holes in Scotland".
Numerous other courses are within easy reach of the village.
Cyclists, hill-walkers and ramblers are catered for by a number of
well maintained & signposted local routes & paths.
After the exertions of the day, a meal or a drink can be enjoyed in the
two local hotels both of which have well appointed lounge bars and
dining areas or, for a more local flavour, the public bars offer a wide
selection of beers, wines, spirits and colourful characters.

Surrounded by unspoilt countryside, yet only a twenty minute drive
from the capital, Gifford is truly "the best of both worlds".
