Alto Cirrus

Another beautiful image from Matt Macpherson, this time showing Alto Cirrus clouds above Gifford during May 2008.

Matt says...   "These occur at about 30,000ft and consist of ice crystals formed from the
freezing of super-cooled water droplets; they usually indicate fair weather!"

He joins Grant Ross and myself as a fully paid up member of the Gifford Cloud-watchers Society!!
